Obituary of Roger Steve Linson

Roger Steve Linson passed away into the arms of Jesus on October 7, 2014 at the age of 72 years. Steve was born May 9, 1942 in Licking, MO to Irrie and Alta Linson. Steve graduated Licking High School in 1960 and immediately enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served for 6 years. He then joined the St. Louis Police Department and graduated from the St. Louis Police Academy. During his time serving as a police officer, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of MO in the Administration of Criminal Justice. His life’s career consisted of being a police officer for the cities of St. Louis and Kansas City, MO, as well as a mail carrier for the city of Kansas City, MO. He later served as a special agent for the state of Missouri. Throughout his career, Steve continued to serve as a Reservist with the U.S. Coast Guard and retired with a total of 30 years of military service. Steve was married to Edna (Stewart) Linson, formerly of Licking, MO. They lived most of their married life in and raising their children in Independence, MO. They have lived the last 14 years in their home in Springfield, MO. Preceding Steve in death, were his parents, Irrie and Alta Linson of Licking, MO and a sister, Carol Holt also of Licking. Surviving Steve is his wife, Edna Linson of Springfield, MO; their sons, Roger Allen and Pam of West Virginia; Kenneth and Nick of Springfield, MO; their daughter, Angela and Kevin Ryan of Overland Park, KS; his sisters, Diana Peterson of Licking, MO and Nancy Hannaford of Pontiac, MO. Steve was dearly loved, and will be sadly missed by his family, as well as by his 4 grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
