Virginia Marie Garnett Vernon of Licking, Missouri was born to the late Milferd and Vera Garnett on August 7, 1927 in Jackson, Iowa. She left this life on July 5, 2014 in Rolla, Missouri.
Virginia married John Ivan Vernon on August 1, 1953, John predeceased Virginia on August 22, 2000. They had eight children: Twila Elaine Mulrooney and Beverly Kay Vernon of Sunny Valley, Oregon; Larry Arthur Vernon - Deceased; Susan Ann Strickland of Salem, Missouri; Barbara Ann Whitwell of Houston, Missouri; Carolyn Ann Stevens of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri; Juanita Marie Kurbursky of Licking, Missouri; Tine deMateo of San Ramon, California.
She is survived by seven siblings: Carl Francis Garnett of Jefferson, Iowa; Gladys Irene Hofsman of Clinton, Iowa; Lucille Elaine Cadwell of Adel, Iowa; Donald Dean Garnett of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Doris Jean Kennedy of Jefferson, Iowa; Darlene Vivian Taggart of Scranton, Iowa; and Harriet Jane Paup of Scranton, Iowa.
John and Virginia had a total of 18 grandchildren. They also were blessed with many great-grandchildren.
