Obituary of Lela L. Dunkle

Lela L. Dunkle, 102, of Licking, Mo. went to her heavenly home on November 3, 2015 with her friends by her side. She was a resident at Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Mo. at the time of her death. Lela was born to the late Merle Blaine and Myrtle Iona (Adams) Ross on August 8, 1913, in Emlenton, Pennsylvania. In 1931 she married Charles Dunkle Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1973. To this union was one son Charles Dunkle Jr. he passed away in 2009. Lela was a member of the Licking United Methodist Church and loved her church family. She attended the Licking Bridge Builders Senior Center regularly and loved to play cards, and bingo. Lela also enjoyed dancing and going gambling and traveling. She worked at Boeing Aircraft in California for many years and retired, and various other places. There were three grandchildren, Charles Dunkle III of Ontario, Ca and Donna & Husband Vic Silveira of Wasco Ca. and Christopher and wife Brenda of Hobbs New Mexico. Lela has 8 great- grandchildren and 7 great- great grandchildren and 2 great, great, great grandchildren. sister–in- law Geraldine Dunkle of Conneaut, Ohio, brother –in- law Ray Fisher of Homosassa, Fl., nieces, Denise Fisher of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Diane Rapacchietta of San Jose, Ca. She is preceded in death by sisters Myrna Evans and Dorothy Fisher. Funeral under the direction of Fox Funeral Home in Licking, Mo services was held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Eugene Maxey and Grant Heithold officiating. Graveside services will be at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, Ca.
