Curtis Mark Chambers was born on January 27, 1954 in St. Louis, MO to Gerald (Jerry) Chambers and Doris Chambers (nee Hadley). He departed this life on November 29, 2015 at the age of 61 years 10 months and 2 days. Curt had suffered a brief illness and was surrounded by family and friends in his home just as he wanted it. Curt was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Karen, and one infant child. He is survived by his fiance, Starla Garrett of Licking; siblings Dennis Chambers & Amp; Kelley Lewis (Kenny) of Licking, Kent Chambers (Kathy) of Union, MO, Brenda Buckner (Dean) of Lenox, Lori Chambers (Mike Day) of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jill Stoner (Steven) of Salem, MO; Children Melanie Elliott (Utah) of Success, MO, Curtis Vandegriff (Lorie) of Cattawissa, MO, Jennifer Vandegriff of Pacific, MO, and Melissa Medley of Maryland Heights, MO; Grandchildren Ashley, Austin, Christin, Stephanie, Paige, Miranda, Leo, Warren, Brooke, Sumer, Angel,Ryan, Iana and Jessica; one great grandchild, Kylee; and hosts of nieces and nephews. Curt grew up in Franklin County, MO where he attended Pacific schools. After high school, he joined the United States Army. During his enlistment, he served one tour in Vietnam as a radio operator. That really suited Curt because he always loved anything mechanical or electronic. After his return stateside, he attended East Central College where he received an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences. Curtis spent his working years as an auto mechanic and driving a tractor trailer both locally and over the road. He retired from his mechanics position at Fort Leonard Wood recently so he could spend more time doing the things he loved. He always enjoyed fishing, hunting, or tinkering with any kind of gadgets, but he most enjoyed traveling and riding his beloved Harley. Curt was someone who always wore a smile and greet you with a Come here, baby! followed by a warm hug. He never met a stranger, and he truly loved life. Curt loved to sing, and he could do about any song justice. What he loved singing most was old gospel or classic country. Though he will be sorely missed, he is now singing his favorite hymns with all of the angels in Heavens choir.
