I just found out Dora left us. She had been on my mind so much lately. I was always owing her an email to update things on my end. I knew she had been fighting lots of illnesses but I just never imagined we had lost her. Dora was my 9th grade English teacher at Alton High School. That was the school year 65/66. I had the honor of reconnecting with Dora and having lunch with her around 2005. We actually reconnected at the high school reunion at Alton before that. There I finally got to meet Paul. They were both fantastic people. Dora (it is still hard to call her Dora as she was always Miss Strike to me) left a big mark on me. She was my teacher and my friend and I will miss her deeply. She was the best! To Paul, Dora's family and her many friends.....I'm so sorry for the loss of this special person in ALL our lives. God Speed Dora!

Dora and Paul and family,
We are only here a short time,but Dora left a legacy, Her memory will live on. She was wonderful lady, I was happy to work with her at, help center, She helped many children to read and write, Those will carry on the memory of Dora.
She is gone in body, But she lives on through your stories and her, legacy she left behind.

I helped you and Paul move away, but part of your heart stayed here in Light. My mother loved the letters you would send, just to update us and ask about the people left and to see if Cullen was telling everything about her health. So many precious memories flood back tow me now, but I didn't realize who Dora was. Sometime when we again meet on the streets of Heaven forgive me if I call you Dora Lee. You will be remembered and our prayers are with you Paul.

To everyone who knew Dora and her family and friends. Very sweet lady. I have met her a few times. I will miss her, for the smile and how friendly she was. We worked at teh help center and seen her in Pj restaurant.

Mrs. Dora Meier was one of the nicest teacher I could have ever hope to have she was always so patient with me when I was in her class room teaching me how to read I feel so blessed to have gotten to know her loved her dearly she will be missed always.

We would like to offer condolences to Paul and the rest of their family in the loss of Dora. Dora and Paul have been very good neighbors the past several years and valued their contributions and leadership in helping our neighborhood. I meet Dora in my teen years through the Habitat for Humanity program. Dora was a insiration of kindness and love to everyone she was around. She had a way of making each person feel important and loved. She was a true humanitarian and when Dora for to the gates of heaven there is no question in my mind that Jesus gave her a big hug and said, you feed me and clothed me. Because Dora did unto the least every day.

When I was a little girl I remember Dora as a person I could always depend on seeing at church. She was always smiling and singing with her beautiful voice. I remember she loved to sing in the choir and frequently sang specials. Dora will be forever remembered as a special lady.
