Obituary
Obituary of Anna May Bailie
Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anna May was born in Doniphan, Missouri on May 10, 1932 to William Harmon (Joe) Murray and Marie (Steele) Murray. She left this world July 20, 2016 at Licking Park Manor after a courageous battle with cancer.
Anna was united in marriage May 28, 1949 to Lester T. Bailie and to this union, two children were born, Katherine Marie and James William. Anna and Lester enjoyed vacationing and lake fishing in their earlier years before both had onsets of personal and family illness. She worked and retired from Rawlings Sporting Goods Manufacturing. While she was full time employed, she was always lending helping hands to the sick and to several family elders.
There was always room at her kitchen table for a cup of coffee and a talk for all. Her always upbeat and motivational speeches made your backside bruised worse than a paddle ever could have.
She spent her last three months in Licking Park Manor where she cherished everyone for their care and the food.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents, husband and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law.
Anna May is survived by her children, Jim and Ginny Bailie of Palmetto, Florida and Kathy and Norman Hooper of Licking, Missouri; three grandchildren, Brad and Amber Hooper of York, Pennsylvania, Tricia and Bradd Meadors of Montgomery, Texas and Grant and Gina Bailie of Wesley Chapel, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Nicole and Derek Cook, Cole Hooper, McKenna Meadors and Ayden Meadors; one sister, Wilma Huey; one sister-in-law, Viola Bailie and many nieces and nephews whom a large majority packed their little suitcases and ran off to Aunt Anna’s house.
