My condolences to the family, the bible describes a God of comfort, "who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God." ( 2 Corinthians 1:3,4) May God comfort you during this during this difficult time and may you find comfort in his promise of a resurrection. ( John 5:28,29).

Harry Foley was a good man! When I was a little boy back in the late Fifties and early Sixties my Brothers, Sisters and I attended Oak Grove Baptist Church in Salem Mo.
In those days church services were on Wed Nights, Friday Nights and Sunday Nights as well as Sunday morning services. The church had a small panel truck that picked kids up and brought us to church and deliver us back home. One night my Brothers and Sisters arrived at home but without me. My parents called Brother Foley in a panic reported that I hadn't made it home. He met Mom and Dad at the church, unlocked the doors and turned on the lights. On the very last pew of the church they found a little Five year old boy fast asleep!
Although I'm now 63 years old I've never forgotten his presence in that little Baptist Church surrounded by a grove of Oak Trees!
My Condolences to Paul and his family.

My sincere condolences are with you for the passing of your father and grandfather-Harry Foley. I came upon the obit in the Salem News online and gasped when I saw the news. Harry Foley was always there for the Hampton family when anything happened.
He visited my grandparents and prayed with my parents when it was evident we were going to lose Grandma and Grandpa Hampton. He officiated their services. He couldn't make it to Springfield when Dad was very ill and it looked as if he wouldn't come home. Harry called and had a very long conversation with Dad after which Dad's face relaxed and all was well with him. Harry could do that for people. He officiated at Dad's service.
He was the first pastor in my life at Oak Grove Baptist Church. He baptized me.
My spiritual life has gone on to grow and develop in many different directions but I shall never forget my Baptist upbringing and Harry Foley was a huge part of that. I shall never forget him.
May your memories serve to bring joy at this time of sadness.

Bro. Harry was a special person. He truly loved God and wasn't ashamed to share it with anyone. Bro. Harry was always there when you needed him. He ministered to both my husband, John and myself several times when we were in the hospital for various reasons. He also participated in the services for my mother when she passed in 2000. He married my son and daughter in law years ago. He will truly be missed by all that knew him and Mary. The angels are rejoicing because one of their own came home.
