Joan Spencer was a woman of great strength and dignity. Her faith in Christ resonated through her every deed and action. I will always remember the adventures we went on during my breaks from college. The giggles, the laughs, the serious conversations about faith and family, and of course the homemade food! And while our times together were somewhat few, I feel blessed that she was a part of my life. She was a true inspiration. Her influence knows no bounds.

Sending warm thoughts to Miss Joan's family on this sad news of her passing. I remember her so well at all the Martin family funerals (my original family) and at a lot of Schafer family funerals also. She always had a kind word and comfort for our families and no one can ever forget her sweet smile. RIP Joan, you and your father, Mr. Carl, will always be remembered by my families.

Grace and Jane and family,
I send my thoughts and prayers. I remember Aunt Joan's sense of humor, her loving nature, her playful fake scolds she would give my dad, and to this day I know how to sew on a button so it will remain fast. She loved life and she is loved.

I remember Joan's sweet smile and her wonderful sense of humor. When Dad passed in 1980 she was a great professional, as well as a caring friend. My sincere sympathy.

Jane,
Sending sympathy and prayers to you and your family during this time of great loss. I have so many memories of Joan as I was growing up as she directed both my Grandmother and Grandfather Reading's services! I remember there were so many services at that time, that she actually had my grandfather's visitation in her living room! She was always such a sweet and classy lady! I know you will miss her greatly! You were blessed to have her for such a long time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!
