Obituary of Eva Aline Lewis
Eva Aline Lewis was born February 1, 1940 in Summersville, MO to Thomas Leslie Smith and Hattie Lynn (Martin) Smith. She went home to be with the Lord May 4, 2018 at Houston House in Houston, MO at the age of 78.
Eva married James “Melvin” Andrew Lewis August 8, 1959 and to this union they had three children, James Eugene, Connie Nadine, and Doyle Ray.
Eva is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin; daughter, Connie; three brothers, Don, Wayne, and Carl; and one sister, Joyce Price.
She is survived by her sons, James Lewis (Velvet) of Houston, MO and Doyle Lewis of Licking, MO; three sisters, Betty Hill (Howard) , Bonnie Lewis both of Licking, MO and Maxine Leggett of Ozark, MO; one brother, James Smith (Vicki) of Licking, MO; seven grandchildren, Connie Lewis, Chris Lewis, Stephanie Fuwell, Jonathan Lewis, Thomas Lewis, Amber Lewis, and Anna Ward; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Eva enjoyed church, reading her bible, singing, walking, puzzles, watching a baseball game on TV and listening to gospel music on her radio. In her early years she loved fishing and could out fish anyone. She would walk to “Hood’s Tasty Freeze” and visit with everyone she met.
She loved her family and friends unconditionally and never had a bad word to say; praying for them always.
Eva will be missed greatly by all those who knew her.
