Obituary of James L. Gorman

James Lee "Jim" Gorman was born to Alfred "A.J." and Lois Williams Gorman, near Montauk State Park in Dent County, Missouri, on March 1 7th, 1949. He passed away on January30th, 2015 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, MO at the) age of 65 years.
Jim was a life-long resident of Dent County, MO except for the five years (1951-56) that he and his family spent in the state of California.
During his early years, Jim attended school at South Fairview, a country school near his family's farm, and later at Green Forest R-2 School in Salem. He also attended Licking High School.
On April 14th, 1973, Jim was united in marriage to Brenda Ann Rogers at the home of her parents near Licking, MO. They made their home in Dent County MO between Licking and Montauk
where they lived for 41 years. They had recently moved to Licking and were adjusting to life in town. Jim and Brenda were blessed with four children: Katherine, Lisa, Doug, and Aaron.
As a child, Jim enjoyed the times when his dad would load up all the neighborhood kids and head to their favorite swimming hole. He was naturally quiet and throughout his life he loved to hunt,
fish, and spend time in the outdoors.
As a young man, Jim accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and had recently started attending services regularly at Montauk Baptist Church. He enjoyed listening to the messages and
tried to make them applicable to his own life. Jim had began a quest to read the Bible through and lately found himself spending a lot of time reading God's Word.
Jim is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Gorman, of their home in Licking; children: Katherine Warnol and husband Ryan of Dixon, MO; Lisa Curtis and husband, Carlton, of Licking; Doug
Gorman and fiance, Brittany Southworth, of Licking; and Aaron Gorman and wife, Shalina, of Raymondville, MO.; his mother, Lois Gorman of Licking; 17 grandchildren: Kelsey Cook, Chase, Seth,
Noah, and Emma Warnol, Sierra, Cheyenne, and Cole Stoner, Destinee Kinder, Kyelor, Madison, Karlee, and Cali Curtis, Brooke, Luke, Aiden, and Jasper Gorman; his sister, Velma Shepherd of
Licking; brother, Larry Gorman and wife, Mary, of the state of Arizona; brothers and sisters-in-law: Todd and Katie Whitson, Bruce and Marilyn Rogers, Terry and Treva Satterfield, and Cindy
Million. Also surviving are a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, A.J. Gorman; his father and mother-in-law, Clark and Wanda Rogers, an infant granddaughter, Cassie Gorman, and his brother-in-law, Bob Shepherd.
