Kenneth Stroder, son of Adam and Dora (Gipson) Stroder was born September 12, 1931 in Sitki, Arkansasand left this life July 8, 2014 at the age of 82 at his home.
Kenneth married Velta Lorraine (McGuyre) Stroder on February 14, 1951 in Osceola, Arkansas. Kenneth and Velta raised six children with love and laughter.
Kenneth’s early years were spent rambling around Arkansas until he joined the Army in 1950, serving twenty years in the Army, traveling the world and serving the country. He served two tours in Korea, two tours in Vietnam and two more in Germany. He was awarded several medals for his service. After retiring from the Army, he worked for civil service for twenty years and retired from Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. Still not ready for the rocking chair, he got his CDL so that he could drive trucks with two of his sons. Later he enjoyed traveling the country in his motor home with his wife.
Preceding Kenneth in death were his wife, Velta; son, John; daughter, Sheila; his parents, Adam and Dora; three brothers, Emil, Carl (Bud) and John; one grandson, James and two daughters-in-law, Carol and Karen.
He is survived by four children, Kenneth E. Stroder, Jr. of Elkhart, Indiana, Dennis W. Stroder of Elkhart, Indiana, Mary A. Noblin and husband, William of Salem, Missouri and Jerry L. Stroder and Cindy Nelson of Licking, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Trina Stroder of Licking, Missouri; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Colleen Boshell of Caraway, Arkansas, Betty Comb and husband, Phil of Pearl, Mississippi, Caroline of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Donald W. Stroder of Chandler, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by all.
