Obituary of Roy Cavaness

Roy Mitchell Cavaness, age 100 years, of Licking, MO, was born on January 24, 1920 in Houston, Mo to Johnny Thomas and Charlcy(Helton) Cavaness. He passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Alfred, Luther Ray and Willie and his daughter Ina. Surviving family members: wife; Pauline, brother; Johnny Wayne, children; Gary(Benita) Cavaness, Garold(Kathy)Cavaness, and Betty (Everett) Perkins, 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. On June 14, 1945 Roy married the love of his life, Pauline. They enjoyed 74 wonderful years together. Roy was a farmer and worked at Rawlings Manufacturing Co. for 35 years from where he retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding and working horses. At one time he had 20 plus horses on his farm along with his cattle. He also like to ride his John Deere tractor and bush hog. Roy loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him. The family will be having a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 16 at Fox Funeral Home, Licking MO; visitation will be from 11-1 PM with service following at 1 PM. Interment will be at Licking Cemetery. Pallbearers; Rusty Howard, Ronnie Howard, Tim Ingle, Steve Cavaness, Ronnie Dixon and Terry Vaughn.
